Mark Ruwedel
Nationality: American
Born: 1954-06-11, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania

Mark Ruwedel was born in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania in 1954. He obtained his Master's degree in Fine Arts at Montreal's Concordia University in 1983. From 1984 until 2001, Ruwedel worked as an instructor of photography at Concorida, while purusing a career as a fine art photographer. His photographs have been exhibited in solo and group shows in Canada and internationally. Ruwedel currently divides his time between Vancouver and Los Angeles, where he teaches photography at the California State University at Long Beach.

Throughout his career Ruwedel has explored the impact that technolgoies and cultures have on the land. Ruwedel describes his work as "an inquiry into the histories, cultural and natural, of places that reveal the land as being both a field of human endeavour and an agent of historical processes."
